For those who may or may not know, I also run The F.A.R. Collective a site dedicated to fashion, art, and resources for brands alongside Andy of Bluu Dreams. We are no big fish in the graphic design or fashion world, but we learned some lessons that are worth sharing. Some posts I write are from a technical aspect since I have experience as a screen printing business while others are promoting up and coming brands. We write reviews on products, events, and more, because we believe it is important for anyone interested to know. Actually there are a couple reviews I need to write and post on there after I finish this post. We want to help out those, because we were there at one point, plus we want to showcase some fresh brands and art that is out there. Expect me to post partial articles from there on the Branded Baron blog. Don’t worry, it’ll link to the rest of the article, I won’t leave you hanging.
Anyway, here’s an article for those interested on how to create look book for their brand. 7 tips on how to create a look book Here’s a glimpse:
Hire a professional photographer- This might be stating the obvious, but you need to hire a good photographer for the shoot. Everyone knows someone who knows someone who is a photographer, but do they know how to shoot fashion photography? Do they have experience shooting look books for fashion companies? The photographer should know what the style the brand is going for and know that the background shouldn’t be overpowering, because the clothes are the important piece of the photo. The photographer is backbone for the shoots, because he or she has the duty of bringing the garments to life that will excite buyers.
Stay no less than stunningly fresh,
Joe
